PhD in Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc. in Advanced Design of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineer by the University of Seville. Since 2011, member of the Materials & Processes division at CATEC. Currently, Head of the Testing and Advanced Processes Unit, with expertise in mechanical and environmental testing of materials and structures, analysis and simulations by finite element method (FEM), processes simulations and topology optimization for additive manufacturing. Dr. Sergio González has a deep knowledge in novel and flexible NDT methods. Dr. Sergio González coordinates and participates in the preparation of R&D proposals, management and execution of National and European research projects.

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineer by the University of Cadiz (2009) and M.Sc. in Product Design, University of Seville (2012). Performed his M.Sc. thesis for design and development by additive manufacturing of innovative assembly connectors at CATEC (2011). Currently Head of the Additive Manufacturing unit at CATEC, focused on design and fabrication of metals and polymers by different AM technologies, especially powder bed laser. Mr. Periñán is deeply involved in all related steps of the technology from the design until final validation by NDT methods like X-ray computed tomography, between others. Mr. Periñan coordinates and participates in the execution of R&D projects at National and European levels.
