Václav Dostál

Associate professor

Václav Dostál graduated from CTU in Prague in 2000 and completed his doctoral studies in the field of Nuclear Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004, defending his work focused on supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle for advanced nuclear reactors. From 2005 to 2007, he worked as a Postdoc at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Recently he works as a professor at the Department of Energy Engineering of the CTU in Prague. The main scientific focus is, the supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle, thermohydraulics of nuclear reactors, the design of new nuclear systems and safety of nuclear reactors.

Jan Syblík

Engineer for Research and Development

Jan Syblík is a Ph.D. student at CTU in Prague, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Energy Engineering. He joined the Department in 2016 during the bachelor studies. Since then, he is a key researcher with publications in the field of sCO₂ power conversion systems, optimizations, and turbomachinery. Besides, he is a head of Analysis of Nuclear Safety Department at the Czech technical support organisation (SÚRO, v.v.i.), focusing on nuclear fuel, subchannel analysis, small modular reactors, and experimental methods in thermal hydraulics.
