Giacomo Persico is Associate Professor of Fluid-Machines at Politecnico di Milano, where he also earned his PhD in Energy in 2006. His research activity is focused on turbomachinery aero-thermodynamics, both experimental and computational, and has been recently oriented to the development of methods and tools for turbomachinery design, optimization, and uncertainty quantification for non-conventional applications such as sCO₂, ORC, and off-shore wind turbines. He has authored about than 150 publications, more than 60 of them appear in international journals, with a h-index of 25 (Scopus). He has been scientific responsibile of more than 20 research contracts funded by private Companies, and has participated to 4 European projects, 2 of them as PI for the Politecnico di Milano research unit. He is member ASME, and is presently Vice Chair of the IGTI Wind Energy Committee.

Giampaolo Manzolini is Professor of “Energy and Environmental Systems” at the School of Industrial Engineering, Politecnico di Milano; he is the coordinator of SCARABEUS (www.scarabeusproject.eu) and DESOLINATION (www.desolination.eu) projects which have developed the sCO₂ cycle concept and will demonstrate at TRL7 in 2024. He is the author of over 140 papers published on peer-reviewed journals dealing about innovative processes and technologies for improving energy conversion and reducing environmental impacts.
