Markus Haider

Full Professor

Prof. Dr. Markus Haider joined TU Wien 2006, after a 13-year industrial career in the energy industry (France, Germany, USA). After studying mechanical and process engineering at TU Wien he wrote his PhD on circulating fluidized bed technology. He then joined CNIM group (France, USA), working in the fields of CFB, waste incineration ad industrial boilers. After CNIM, he joined GE Energy, managing proposals for combined cycle power plants. His current research focus at TU Wien is on energy storage (thermal and thermochemical storage, Carnot Batteries, sCO₂ power cycles, renewable energy (CSP and biomass) and industrial energy systems.

Andreas Werner

Researcher

Andreas Werner studied process engineering at TU Wien. He took his PhD on simulation of circulating fluidized bed boilers. After postdoctoral lecture qualification he has been working on enhancing energy efficiency of industrial energy systems and thermochemical energy storage. Since 2016 he has been involved in design and operation of an sCO₂ test rig
