M.F. Montemor is Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Department of Chemical Engineering Her scientific activity focusses 1) the development of new functional and self-healing coatings for surface protection; 2) novel metal compound redox conductive coatings (including self-healing composites) for electrochemical energy storage.
She is co-author of 18 book chapters, nearly 300 scientific papers and more than 300 presentations in international conferences, with several plenary and keynote lectures. Her h index is 68 (Jan 23).
She has been responsible for the coordination of a significant number of research projects, and industrial agreements at IST.

João Salvador Fernandes (PhD in Chemical Engineering, Instituto Superior Técnico, 1997), is an associate professor at IST.
His scientific activity is focused on corrosion and electrochemical techniques, aiming the development of new or modified materials with enhanced corrosion resistance and the development of corrosion sensors for aircrafts (one patented sensor) and for biomedical applications.
